Diane Noomin

Diane Noomin (born 1947 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American comics artist associated with the underground comics movement. Her work has appeared in many underground comic publications, including ''Weirdo'', ''Young Lust'', ''Short Order'', ''Arcade'', ''El Perfecto'', ''True Glitz'', ''Aftershock'', ''Real Girl'', ''Lemme Outta Here'', ''Mind Riot'', and ''Titters''. She is best known for her character Didi Glitz, who addressed transgressive social issues such as feminism, women masturbating, positive body image, and miscarriages.〔Noomin, Diane. "Glitz-2-Go". Fantagraphics Books, 2011〕 She is the editor of the anthology series ''Twisted Sisters'', and one of the original contributors to ''Wimmen's Comix''. She has also done theatrical work, creating a stage adaptation of Didi Glitz. She is married to cartoonist Bill Griffith.
Noomin attended Brooklyn College and Pratt Institute. She won an Inkpot Award in 1992.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Comic-Con International's InkPot Awards )〕 Noomin's work was also nominated for Eisner Awards for Best Anthology in 1992 and 1995.
